Welcome

This site is an ongoing work, intended to show the history of our ancestors and the comunities they lived in.

bigphoto.jpgIt now contains much more family, social and local history content. We hope that these pages can do much to bring the individuals, their families and communities 'to life'.

With this in mind, the site includes items which have been verified to be historically correct, elements which have been interpreted by us, and 'family myths' or stories. Wherever possible we will endeavour to note the status of particular items. However, readers should view anything included in the notes as a reflection of 'fact and feeling', that is to say an accurate interpretation of family events and history as we see or saw them. Where there is room for interpretation, our own experiences will inevitably have coloured what is written.

Please leave comments in the guestbook and tell us about your research when visiting the site. We will try to help you and you might be helping us! Members may use the forums or the chatbox feature to post questions or enquiries.

Thanks go to all those who have helped and continue to help with our research. You are too numerous to list here, but references will appear at various points in the site. Without this help we would have been unable to find  our ancestors, and much less understand their lives or those of their communities.

As a result of my research, I have found records and details of many 'Mosley' families, spelt in many different ways, which I have not (yet) been able to link to my own ancestry. This information is all held in a database of more than 11,000 names. If you do not find your ancestors on this site, I may still have them on my local database.

Please leave a note either in the guestbook, on the forum or alternatively email me, and I will try to help if  I can.

Any old photos?

Any old photos?

Much has been done to improve the site over recent months, and we hope to continue improving in the future.

You are important to us, and we encourage you to tell us about your research when visiting the site, it only takes a few seconds..

If any of you have old photographs of the places our ancestors lived or worked (or modern ones), please let us know because we have further plans to add these unique records to the facts and figures already contained in the site.

Enjoy, and we look forward to hearing from you.

New timelines added

Posted by  martin, 06 Apr : 11:28
We have today uploaded timelines accessible for all ancestors where dates of birth and death are known. These are linked to the Wikipedia database for greater understanding of particular events. We hope you enjoy this added functionality on the site.
