Hi Dee,

Thank you. You have filled in another small blank for us.. Can you tell us more about Alfred, Lilly, or their descendants? We'd be delighted to incorporate your information into what is after all, your family web site.

Best wishes
Martin

Hi,
Just a quick update on the GOACHER family. Alfred b1857 at Rotherham married Sarah J HATHERWAY b1861 at Birmingham in 1884 at Rotherham. They also had a daughter Lily (my ggm) b1883 at Swinton. Hope this is of some use to someone. Great site. Dee

Welcome

This site is an ongoing work, intended to show the history of my family and the comunities they lived in.
bigphoto.jpgThe 'new look' site is a development of my original genealogy pages. It now contains much more family, social and local history content. The genealogy database remains at the core of the site and can be accessed through the genealogy menu above. Broader information is available using the menus and will be continually added to. Please make use of the new forum facility, it may help you and other visitors to the site.

Whilst it is important, indeed essential in any family history site to show names, dates and relationships, I hope that these pages can do much more to bring the individuals, their families and communities 'to life'.

Please leave comments and tell us about your research when visiting the site. We will try to help you and you might be helping us!

With this in mind, the site will include items which have been verified to be historically correct, elements which have been interpreted by me or others, and 'family myths' or stories. Wherever possible I will endeavour to note the status of particular items. However, readers should view anything included in my notes as a reflection of 'fact and feeling', that is to say an accurate interpretation of family events and history as I personally see or saw them. Where there is room for interpretation, my own experiences will inevitably have coloured what is written.

My thanks go to all those who have helped and continue to help with my research. You are too numerous to list here, but references will appear at various points in the site. Without this help I would have been unable to find my ancestors, and much less understand their lives or those of their communities.

New look site

Category:   Misc | Author:   e107

We are working on new designs, layouts and content for this site, with a view to making it more helpful to visitors and researchers. Much remains to be done, but we hope that visitors will find the site useful and enjoyable to visit.

Please use the new forum to post messages regarding your research, the content of the site, it's appearance etc.

If you have contributions, questions or suggestions, they are always welcome.

Many thanks to 'Rush' for his invaluable help in the redesign, without which it would not have been possible.

We have today uploaded timelines accessible for all ancestors where dates of birth and death are known. These are linked to the Wikipedia database for greater understanding of particular events. We hope you enjoy this added functionality on the site.
